Pure life, pure pleasure, pure joy

Have you already been to the Wiesergut? No? Should you make up for lost time. Yes? Then you will know what we’re talking about. Apart from its hospitality, the resort stands out thanks to its unique architecture which imparts a special atmosphere in the Wiesergut, one that welcomes its guests.

Sink into nature and the surroundings. Relax and unwind. Here the aroma of an incomparable landscape wafts through a resort, one that does not set itself apart but which blends in.

Already in Hinterglemm and heading out of the valley? Just before an impressive resort that blends harmoniously into the surrounding hills and the lush greenery and that dreamy mountain backdrop? Then you have landed in the Wiesergut for sure. So what do you see? A resplendent main building with wooden shutters, that have been used since time immemorial maybe? Unobtrusive, yet still dominant? Is it a single-storey building with wide window fronts around the main building? When a glazed corridor connects all the buildings to one another, that’s when you’ve arrived – in the Wiesergut.

The architecture is clearly exciting. The ensemble is definitely striking. But what is it that makes the entire complex so unique that it is known about, far beyond the borders of Austria? In the beginning it was the unreserved support the whole family gave to the concept that the young members of the family, Martina and Josef Kröll, came up with.

Happiness – when nothing distracts from the fundamental

'We have a feeling of happiness when we can intuit our guests' specific needs. A stone, a piece of wood with lots of signs of use, an old clay vessel in a modest room, where nothing detracts from the fundamental, creates an atmosphere, in which we are happy', they explain. This aspiration has been suitably and logically implemented by Monika Gogl from Gogl & Partner Architects in Innsbruck.

The Wiesergut is a farm which has 17 suites, restaurant and piazza along with an entrance area with coach house, seven separate garden suites and a SPA area. The rectangular structure of the individual buildings creates an extensive inner courtyard, with fruit trees, a place which tempts you to have a chat. The atmosphere is understated Scandinavian, which, when it comes to the resort, gives everyone space to breathe. Everything in terms of colour is matched, even the cats match the ensemble. Here and there art work highlight the ambience.

Inside and outside – one unit, homogeneous

In the architecture contrast-rich, simple materials like local oak and walnut wood, natural stone, granite, glass and exposed concrete and forged iron have been specifically chosen. This timeless style emphasises nature. In the interior, warm tones dominate the design, so too do fine linen and loden materials and weather-beaten leather.

The aroma of an incomparable landscape permeates this resort, not detracting, but blending in with it.
